20110327 Day trip to Johor (Part 2: Food)

The best thing to do in Johor (if you are not a shopping person like me) is to indulge in FOOD!!

1) The first thing we did is to have breakfast at Old Town White Coffee Cafe. Their decor is so authentic! Having slept an average of 5 hours for the past 3 nights, I needed my cup of 'wake up drink' badly.

2) Next, lunch at Asli Seafood Restaurant. This place was recommended by Chin's friend. It is actually in a kampung, about 40 minutes drive from City Square Shopping Centre. This place is very secluded yet business was brisk and we even spotted a few Singaporean cars.

Their service was so-so, depending on who is serving you. We unanimously agreed that the seafood was very fresh but the cooking was only average. There was also slight sewage smell in the air but it did not really bother us much. And all these food (fish, prawn, mussels, squids, greens and 5 cans of drinks) cost only RM95.50.

3) It was scorching hot!! What's a better way to end the trip? Ice-cream from Baskin Robbins!! Sweet ending to a long day!

We did not take the train back; took the SBS bus 170 instead. We paid only RM 1.40 and it took us from City Square, Johor to Kranji MRT Station. We chose to depart Johor at about 4pm, avoiding the rush hours. Overall, it was a pleasant train journey and a good trip with the chum chums. I can now proudly tell my friends that I have taken the train from Singapore to Johor Bahru.
